Historical Notes: "A" 604 was built as a four-cylinder compound on the de Glehn system by A & G Price Ltd.(Thames) in 1914 (maker's no 59/14), went into service in July 1914, was converted into a two-cylinder simple expansion engine somewhere between 1941 and 1949, and was written off in February 1957.
