'Wine and Dine. Welcome to the V8 crowd' "We're still hopeful that someone might turn up." 2 May, 2008

Reference Number: DCDL-0006386

Shows a waiter standing outside a restaurant which has a notice saying 'Welcome to the V8 crowd' leaning against the wall. He tells a passing man that they are still hoping that people from the V8 racing will come to the restaurant. Refers to the Hamilton V8 races held in April 2008. There were great expectations by the bars, restaurants and so forth in Hamilton that the V8 racing would bring a bring bonanza. In reality many of the establishments had their quietest time ever.
