Pearse, John 1808-1882 :[Miscellaneous sketches] 1856

E-455-f-016-1-1 = [Sketches of tree ferns and nikau]; -016-1-2 = Porirua Rd, between 1852 & 1856, the road passing through a cutting and winding through steep bush-clad banks, with a traveller in the foreground and a horse and cart in the distance; -016-1-3 = "J. P. by Wollaston". i.e. a double portrait of John Pearse's left and right profile. In one view he is wearing a hat, in the other he is bare-headed. He has a beard and moustache and curly hair. On the verso of -016-1-2 is another watercolour, untitled, but probably a view from the top of Paekakariki Hill Road, with the road to the right, looking north along the coastline, with other hills to the right in the distance
