A view from the shore, with a hut or bunker on the left, a road leading to it around the water's edge, several small boats in the harbour beyond, with H. M. Paddle Steamer Driver steaming past to the right. The view is thought to show the arrival of the Driver in Porirua Harbour to mount an attack on Rangiaheata's pa and warriors in 1846.
