Historical Notes: Bishop Selwyn's house was erected in 1831. It was used by Bishop Selwyn as the first St. John's College in 1843. The roofline was changed to a gabled roof with large central dormer ca 1870s, and the shingled roof was replaced with iron ca 1912.
