Inscriptions: Inscribed - Recto - title and other notes in ink, in the hand of John Lavin: 'Cutting in. Cutting the Blubber off a whale on Mohaka Beach. the Fat is about 6 or 8 inches thick and has to [sic] cut off and dragged to the Boiling place. A couple of Moari gins [sic] in the foreground. That whale made about 12 Tons of oil. John Lavin.'
