Hutton, Thomas Biddulph, 1824-1886 :Ko Kawewar. Oct 1845.

A Maori woman, with moko, a long ear-ring in her left ear, wrapped in a flax cloak with a red and black fringed border. Her name is Kawewar (or Kawewa?) and she was painted either at Waimate North or at St John's College, Auckland.
