[Smith, William Mein] 1799-1869 :[Bush scene in the Wairarapa, 1840s or 1850s]

Reference Number: A-263-027

Shows rotting shell of a large tree trunk, with a tree stump to the left and dense bush behind, including a tree-fern. Probably painted on or near the artist's farm at Huangarua, between Greytown and Martinborough in the Wairarapa, although it could also be a Wellington or Hutt Valley scene. The land is flat and there are no identifying hills visible.
