Historical Notes: "When Frank Moore decided to build a new house he chose an elevated site off Rangitatau Road, with native bush as a backdrop ... The house was erected by Messrs Russell and Bignell; the gardens were designed and landscaped by Mr I Cameron, landscape gardener of Westmere; while the carving of the mantelpiece and the sideboard in the dining room was executed by Mr W Andrews of the Wanganui Technical School of Design" (From Royal Forest & Bird Protection Society of NZ "Bushy Park scenic reserve, Kai Iwi, Wanganui" (1967)).
