Historical Notes: Built in 1852 as an auxiliary steamer for the East India trade. Later purchased by Shaw Savill & Co. for Australasian trade, with engines removed. Made two voyages to Port Chalmers, arriving on November 6 1873 and April 15 1888. This photograph can be dated to the latter voyage, from the funnel of the refrigeration plant with which she was fitted in the 1880s.
