Bushmen William Mathews, Dan Galvin, and Jo Simkin photographed by G E Edwards of Tokatoka in about 1909. The axes are Kelley brand, very long in the blade, good for scarfing, and four and a half pounds in weight. The men have just finished `sniping' the nose on the kauri log.
