[Bridge, Cyprian], 1807-1885 :[Battle for Puketutu Pa. 1845]

Reference Number: A-079-033

Shows British soldiers and a group of allied Maori attacking Puketutu Pa near Lake Omapere, which is shown at the right. There are two groups of troops in formation in the left foreground, a loose group of officers supervising in the centre; and in front of the pa, soldiers engaging in gunfire. At the far end of the lake shore, soldiers scale a slope in order to be at the same level as the pa, which is shown with its wooden palisades in the left middle distance.
