A view along the Whanganui River amidst steep banks, looking towards a small settlement at the foot of a cliff with the buildings and palisades of Tonuhaere Pa visible at the top of the above. Two Maori canoes are on the water close by, one a waka taua, the second a smaller waka with a sail.
