New Zealand soldiers with some of the variety of vegetables grown in the gardens at Sling military camp on Salisbury Plain, England, during World War I. The men stand holding freshly picked vegetables including cabbages, parsnips, carrots, beetroot and turnips. There is a pile of vegetables on the ground in front of them.
