Historical Notes: The `Waitemata' was built in 1908 by William Hamilton and Company in Port Glasgow and was in service for the United States Ship Company, 1908-1918. It was torpedoed and sunk 100 miles E 3/4 north from Marsa Susa, Mediterranean sea on 14 July 1918.
