Mock combat between two men, Mataatua region, [1900-1910]

Mock combat between (Te Anewa and Wharepapa ?), between circa 1900-1910. Both hold taiaha (traditional Maori fighting staffs). Taken in the vicinity of Mataatua, probably outside a model pa. The name of the ancestor Te Tahi o Te Rangi is written above the carved gateway. Photograph taken by Thomas Pringle.
