The iron barque Ranee under repair at Port Chalmers, at some time between 1881 and 1896, photographed by D A De Maus. Shipbuilders are replacing bow plating damaged in a collision.

Historical Notes: The Ranee was built in 1864 by Hart of Liverpool, as the ship Cowasjee Jehangeer. She was renamed Ranee ca 1869, and converted to a barque ca 1881. She last appeared in Lloyd's register in 1896.
