Cars on a partially competed section of the Haast Pass highway. The road is unsealed and on the right hand side of the image can be seen a section of ridge partly cut away. There is much loose spoil and rock on the down hill slope from the road and some native forest can be seen. Photographed by John Pascoe in 1966.
