Photograph of Lovelock talking to American pole vaulter Keith Brown during the Amateur Athletic Association's Annual Championships at White City Stadium, LondonBrown was then the world record holder for the pole vault. The photo was taken on the first day of the championships, probably after Lovelock's run in the mile heats (as he appears to be icing his knee) and the day before he was beaten in the final by Sydney Wooderson.
