Cartoon showing Jack Lovelock, Bill Bonthron, Glenn Cunningham and Gene Venzke, 15 Jun 1935
Reference Number: MSX-2254-114
A New York Post cartoon from Jack Lovelock's albums showing Lovelock and his rivals, just before the much-publicised `Mile of the century' matchup at Princeton in 1935. The cartoon suggests that this race might be a `4.00 minute mile cocktail', although none of the runners were capable of going that fast.
