World's oldest man marks 114th birthday - News. "Do you think this could be THE WAR TO END ALL WARS?" "Could be, the Boers can't hold out much longer." 25 March, 2003.

Reference Number: DCDL-0001686

A nurse pushes the world's oldest man across the grass at his old peoples' home. The old man is in the news because it is his 114th birthday. The nurse asks him if he thinks the Iraqi war is going to be the war to end all wars. The old man remembers the Boer war from a hundred years earlier and thinks she is referring to that. The United States has just invaded Iraq.
