Some of the New Zealand soldiers who held the enemy on the Somme. The soldiers are sitting and standing in a trench. Rifles rest against the trench wall. Nearby, are three shovels standing upright in the mud. Photographed by Henry Armytage Sanders at La Singy Farm, France, on the 6th of April, 1918.
