A big cheerful waitress in a frilly pinny and cap carries a tray, on which are two boiled eggs in egg-cups topped with little papal mitres, to a bemused-looking couple sitting at their table. The humour lies in the fact that Eggs Benedict involves poached eggs on English muffins with creamy Hollandaise sauce. The reason for the papal mitres is that the inauguration of Pope Benedict XVI took place in Rome on the 24th April.
