Historical Notes: Jacob Waley was a member of the Anglo-Jewish community in London. He was also a mathematician, a lawyer, the first President of the Anglo-Jewish Association, and a founder of the United Synagogue to which the Wellington Hebrew Congregation became, and remains, affiliated.
