Shows wooden framing with two small vertical wheels, and one large horizontal wheel, on a flat hill top, possibly the entrance to a mine-shaft. These wheels are presumed to have been turned by horses. Possibly chimneys in the hazy distance; these may be part of the landscape of a pottery works.

Historical Notes: May have been painted soon after paper manufacture in 1849, and may depict a scene in England. Richmond arrived in New Zealand in 1851, but made long trips back to England after that.
