"If I have your solemn word that is a box of chocolates and not a tape-recorder the interview can start. I gotta be careful after last time..." 5 April, 2005.
Reference Number: DCDL-0000778
Labour Member of Parliament, John Tamihere, sits at a table on which is a tape recorder, clearly not a box of chocolates. He is holding a copy of the Newspaper, Dompost, on the front of which are the words 'Tamihere slams Labour colleagues as tossers and smarmy'. John Tamihere has recently made some very offensive comments about several of his Labour Party colleagues. He claimed not to have realised that his words were being recorded even though he was doing an interview with a reporter.
