Shows a cartoon by M C Bollinger, with C G Scrimgeour sitting on a cannon labelled "Scrim's election mud thrower". John A Lee of the Democratic Party is handing Scrimgeour some cannonballs to fire (balls include "Trades Hall domination", "Bouncers"), whilst a member of the National Party prevents him from taking other balls labelled "War insurance racket", "Debt slavery", "What about conscription?".
