Michael Drake and Cindy Kiro. 26 August 2005

Reference Number: DCDL-0000097

Caricature of Michael Drake, principal of Carey College, wearing a large pair of green boxer shorts with white spots and with his trousers round his ankles. He is touching his toes and being whacked by Children's Commissioner, Cindy Kiro, who flexes a long cane. Michael Drake encourages her to hit harder as he is intent on increasing the pleasure. The image is labelled 'Spanking properly'. Refers to the pamphlet about how to spank that he recently sent home to the parents of his students. This has caused outrage among many who believe that the emphasis should be on avoiding corporal punishment, not perfecting it.
