Caricature of David Lange, who was Prime Minister of a New Zealand Labour government from 1984 to 1989. He is shown here in his pyjamas, seriously ill in hospital, soon to have a leg amputated because of diabetes. His indomitable sense of humour was present even half way through the procedure when he checked to make sure the surgeon had the right leg.
