The poll vaulters. 11 September, 2005.
Reference Number: DCDL-0000185
The scene shows a pole-vaulting competition between Don Brash, Leader of the National party and Helen Clark, Prime Minister. Each is dressed in little sports shorts and is sweating copiously with the effort required as they both try to get over the bar at the same time. We don't of course see who wins. Refers to the very close poll results in the weeks running up to the election in a few day's time. A play on the words 'poll' and 'pole'. They are both trying to get over the bar at the same time.
