Photograph of a Department of Agriculture export meat label produced circa 1930s. The label reads: "New Zealand Meat. This meat has been examined, and by ante- and post-mortem inspection is found to be free from disease and suitable in every way for human consumption, and the meat has not been treated with chemical preservatives or other foreign substances injurious to health. This label is invalid without the signature of the Inspector of the Department of Agriculture." Photograph taken circa 1930s by the Department of Agriculture.
