Four vignettes showing unlikely incidents. In the top left a wife is farewelling her husband and encouraging him to stay out late and drink with his friends. In the top right an office worker is staying late at work to finish a task rather than going to watch a sporting event. In the bottom left Wellington loses the Ranfurly Shield to Poverty Bay (with a note from the cartoonist 'Throw away cartoon if Poverty Bay win'). In the final bottom right image, the Police appear to be confiscating alcohol at the Police Ball.
