An unflattering head and shoulders caricature self-portrait drawn at the end of a letter from Paris to Grace Hesketh, commenting about French ideas of the primitive nature of New Zealand society. The letter, undated, appears to be written shortly before Goldie returned to New Zealand in 1898.
