Bribes. 1 September 2005
Reference Number: DCDL-0000135
The scene is a farmyard. A greedy turkey is gobbling up wheat which is laid out to spell the word 'bribes' and which leads towards a trap in the form of a large empty wooden box labelled 'The govt you deserve' that is propped up with a stick. From the stick a length of string can be seen disappearing offscreen. Clearly, when the turkey eats its way right under the propped up box the string will be pulled, the stick will slip from under the box, the box will fall and the turkey will be trapped inside. The reference is to the greed of the public which may be attracted with bribes to vote for one party or another and which may as a consequence find itself in a trap.
