Historical Notes: The flagpole at the right of the picture is said to have been first used on Anzac Day 1916 when the Prime Minister unfurled and Australian flag presented to the railwaymen of New Zealand by the railwaymen of New South Wales. Therefore the date of the postcard is likely to have been in 1916 or later. (See correspondence from David Castle, S.AR.002.001.014-v01, 6 April 2007)
