Shows a thatched cottage at the left, with a large smoking slab chimney beside it, on a sloping lawn beside the sea. There is a rain barrel beside the cottage, and a red flowering plant (possibly a rose) is enclosed in a small picket enclosure at the right. In the background are two small peaked promontories on the Kaikoura Peninsula.
