New Zealand premier Richard Seddon as a hypnotist, casting a spell on a woman who represents New Zealand.Seddon is called "Seddongali", a reference to the leading character "Svengali" in George du Maurier's 1894 novel 'Trilby', in which Svengali hypnotises a young woman, turning her into a split personality who sings brilliantly when in an amnesiac trance, keeping him in a life of luxury.
