Three men in a cart drawn by a donkey on the Rakaia railway. A train is approaching from behind them, as they pass a notice about trespassers. One man is pointing at the train and calling 'Hi, stop, stop! let me out'. Refers to the rivalry between horse-drawn transport and trains
