Historical Notes: The original envelope from which this negative came was labled "Sinai, Bardowill etc." This may mean that the photograph was taken during the period from the Battle of Romani (5-6 August 1916) to the Battle of Rafa (9 January 1917) after which the British army moved on into Palestine.
