Gold, Charles Emilius 1809-1871 :[Mathieson and Schultze's flour-mill, Kaiwharawhara, 1850s]

The three-storied flour mill at Kaiwharawhara, with its mill wheel to the left, set alongside Kaiwharawhara Stream (at the bottom of Ngaio Gorge) with a road running towards the mill on the stream's right bank and bush-clad hills. A Maori man with a spear in one hand is walking towards the mill.
