Photograph by an unidentified photographer showing people milling around for the start of a military parade in the Palmerston North Square, circa 1914. Shows soldiers lined up in uniform, standing or on horse-drawn vehicles, with civilians on the pavement or on bicycles in the street. A variety of Palmerston North businesses line the square behind the procession, including the Occidental Hotel which shows the time of 1pm.
