Historical Notes: Ob class locomotive built by Baldwin Locomotive Works, Philadelphia for the Wellington and Manawatu Railway Company (maker's no 9021/88), as WMR no 12. At the end of 1908 the company was purchased by the Government, and it was renumbered NZR 'Ob' 456. Written off in September 1929.
