Historical Notes: NZR locomotive (4-6-2) no. 608 was built by New Zealand Railway Workshops at Addington, Christchurch, in 1915, and was preserved in 1967. See "Register of New Zealand Railways steam locomotives 1863-1971" by W G Lloyd.
