Smith, William Mein, 1799-1869 :Scene at Otaki, September 1841

The Otaki River on the right, with the palisades of Otaki Pa on the left. A pataka and other buildings can also be seen. The view appears to be close to the beach, looking inland towards the hills. The prow of a canoe is amongst raupo lining the river bank to the right.
