View looking over the laying of the foundation stone of the Wellington Railway Station. There are crowds of people, some seated in a raised dais at the entrance to the station. The foundations are completed, and steel framework is under construction. The old Lambton Station is visible to the left, and behind that, is the Hotel Cecil.
