Historical Notes: "Ka" 945 was built in New Zealand at Hutt Railway Workshops (maker's no. 328/39), went into service in July 1939, was written off in December 1967, and was preserved. See "Register of New Zealand Railways locomotives, 1863-1971" by W G Lloyd (1974).
