Dedication ceremony of three flags at Waireporepo Pa, Te Whaiti. Reverend John George Laughton is officiating. Unidentified people are either sitting on the ground or standing near where the ceremony is taking place, and the flags have not yet been raised. There is a placard at the bottom of the carved flag pole part of which is visible in this image. It reads "Kui mau kite. Whakapono kite. Tumanako kite. Aroha". Photograph taken by Albert Percy Godber on Tuesday 30 September 1930. The date is given as October 1930 in Godber's index held in Photographic Archives.
