Original caption reads: "The new Governor General (Sir Arthur Porritt) gave a hint of the informality that many think will be typical of his term of office when he strolled across to meet these painters at Government House on Friday. The painters, who were putting finishing touches to Government House, stopped to watch official pictures being taken. Sir Arthur noticed them and went across the lawn for a word with them."
