Historical Notes: "Ww" class steam locomotive no. 645 was built by New Zealand Railways at Hillside (maker's no. 180/15), went into service in October 1915, and was written off in March 1957. See "Register of New Zealand Railways steam locomotives, 1863-1971" by W G Lloyd (p 69).
