Reconstruction of the death of Marion du Fresne. Shows part of a pa, with a store-house (pataka), whare and fence. A group of implements and European objects is in the foreground. Marion du Fresne is surrounded by a number of Maori men, with children in the background. A Maori woman is walking off to the left with another French sailor.
